Tell us a little about yourself
I grew up all up and down the east coast, but spent my middle school and high school years in Virginia Beach. I also went to college in Virginia at Virginia Tech. I have been married to my husband, Drew, for 3 1/2 years. We have a 10 month old daughter, Ainsley. Drew and I own a painting company together that we started in May of 2014. In our free time we enjoy traveling, hiking, running, eating ice cream and spending time with our friends and family.
What brought you to The Summit Church?
When I first moved to Denver I had a roommate whose aunt and uncle attend the Summit in Raleigh-Durham. They told us to check out the church that the Summit had just planted in downtown Denver. The first time I visited the Summit I remember the gospel clearly being proclaimed, the members being unashamedly all about Jesus, and being welcomed like I had never been before into a church community. I became a member after a few months of visiting and knew that the Summit Church would become my Denver family-and it most definitely has!
Why are you excited to serve as a deacon at The Summit?
I am both excited and humbled to serve as a deacon at the Summit. I have seen God do incredible things over the past 5 years through the Summit Church and anticipate even greater things to come. I am looking forward to our women’s ministry being more organized to create more and more space for women to serve and lead. I am excited for the women of our church to be better equipped to live on mission to the city of Denver and the world, to love our neighbors and serve our city as Jesus has loved, served, and sacrificed everything for us.
